Slightly over a month ago, KEPSA in partnership with The Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Safaricom in commemoration of the International E-Waste Day organized an E-Waste Recovery Initiative. This call for E-waste recovery was sent to our network in haste and we feel there is a lot that needs to be done. The need to continue raising awareness around sustainable e waste management is increasing as countries continue to develop and organisations are digitizing their operations.
To scale up sustainable businesses, Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya (SIB Kenya) in partnership with Recycla International is embarking on supporting Businesses Organization, Learning Institutions, International Organizations, Embassies, among others to dispose of their end of life electric & electronic devices in an environmentally friendly manner. Examples include mobile phones, computers, laptops, printers, cartridges, DVD players. cables, fridges, T.V. radio among others. Some organizations have gone further to operationalize their business activities by use of renewable energy and use of e-mobility (electric vehicles, motor cycle etc.) This when poorly disposed causes environmental pollution while resulting to associated health risk.
In this regard, Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya (SIB-Kenya) is reaching out to your institution in support of your business operations to Collect with a particular focus on disposal of e-waste coming from your organization sustainably.
The e-waste collection or disposal points are being managed by Recycla International through its subsidiary- Sinomet Kenya limited.
