Nairobi, Kenya — Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya (SIB-K), the knowledge centre under the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), has entered into a one-year strategic content partnership with Radio Africa Group aimed at elevating awareness and accelerating action on circular economy, climate resilience, and regenerative business in Kenya.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the country’s sustainability journey, bringing together SIB-K’s sector expertise and Radio Africa Group’s national media reach, including The Star newspaper, one of Kenya’s most influential platforms.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Karin Boomsma, Director of Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya, emphasised the transformative potential of the partnership:

“Today marks an important milestone in our shared journey toward a more sustainable, regenerative, and inclusive future. By signing this partnership, we are choosing a path aligned with the future we want to create a future grounded in awareness, accountability, and collective action.”

Boomsma highlighted that while sustainability has long been understood as deeply interconnected with everyday life, from soil and water to communities and future generations, meaningful change requires visibility, conversation, and cultural influence.

“Change is slow when it is not seen, heard, or talked about widely. This is where the power of media becomes transformative. Media shapes our stories, our culture, and our understanding of what is possible. It becomes not just a messenger, but a catalyst.”

Driving New Narratives for a Greener Economy

Through the partnership, SIB-K and Radio Africa Group will co-create and amplify science-aligned, solutions-driven content designed to make sustainability practical, accessible, and actionable for all Kenyans.

The goal is to spark mindset shifts and empower Kenyans to move from awareness to participation.

“We will reclaim our traditional, indigenous understanding that sustainability is not a modern trend—it is how we once lived, and how we must live again,” Boomsma noted.

A Partnership Rooted in Collective Impact

Radio Africa Group’s wide national audience and influential storytelling position the media house as a crucial partner in shaping public understanding of climate action and circular economy solutions.

Boomsma expressed gratitude for the collaboration:

“Your platforms reach millions. Your influence can inspire a shift from linear to circular, from extractive to regenerative, from passive awareness to active participation. These stories we will tell together are seeds; seeds that will grow into new behaviors, new opportunities, and a greener economy for Kenya.”
