Tourism has come to a grinding halt and with it income for our Safari Guides, Park Rangers and local communities surrounding our Parks / Reserves and living in Conservancies.
The Community Wildlife Fund (CWF) was established to achieve the following objectives:
- Employment for our guides and usage of our “idle” vehicles to help in creating “Activity” and to act as deterrents against poaching in our parks / reserves/ conservancies.
- Guides can work in conjunction with rangers & wardens in parks/reserves / conservancies by reporting to rangers on any wildlife-related issues / conflicts).
- Food supplies to be purchased and distributed to support local communities in / around National parks / reserves / conservancies who now also suffer due to lack of income and may be prone to engage in bushmeat trade.
- “Virtual marketing” of our destination through our guides in National Parks / Game Reserves during the daily game drives in the parks.
- Educating children in local villages through e-learning and perhaps educational game drives into the parks by our guides.
At Sunworld Safaris we will offer our vehicles on a complimentary basis to assist our guides to help with achieving the above objectives! Visit our Web-site for more details: www.community-wildlife.org
